GUY’S HAIR - SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Your hair must be at its best for special occasions, your
school ball is probably the biggest occasion so far. It
is important that you have your haircut at just the right
time before the ball, which for some of you will be on
the day and for others maybe a week before. If you
prefer to have your haircut done prior to the day, don’t
forget to make an appointment for the day to be sure
the edges are sharp and tidy by having your sidies and
neck re shaved and then you can also have your hair
washed and styled so you are ready to go!
THE DO’S AND DON’TS OF MENS HAIRCARE
DO’S
Wash your hair regularly – when using the correct Shampoo and Conditioner for your hair and scalp, you can wash your hair every single day. If not every day, please be sure to wash your hair at least 3 times per week. To wash it any less than this can sometimes be the cause of dandruff.
Use a quality styling product with as little artificial fragrances and other harmful ingredients as possible, such as an American Crew or Redken for Men product.
Apply your styling product to dry hair. 98% of the time your styling product should be applied to dry hair, as any water in the hair will dilute your product and stop it from giving you the best result possible.
Always condition your hair and scalp. Male specific conditioners have been tailor made to improve the health of the skin on the scalp and can even improve the health of your hair follicles to keep your hair growing for as long as possible. Conditioner will close the cuticle of the hair to avoid damage and take away the fluffy look you get when you wash your hair.
DON’TS
Don’t use Anti dandruff shampoo just in case you get dandruff, it can be very harmful to your hair and scalp. Dandruff should be diagnosed by a qualified hairdresser or your GP and often people think they have dandruff when they only have a dry/flaky scalp. Anti dandruff shampoo should be used for 10-14 days and then return to a good quality maintenance shampoo.
Let your style get out of shape – this is your image, so make the most of it and have your hair cut every 4-6 weeks
Don’t use the same Gel or Wax that you’ve been using for years! As the styles change so should your product. Listen to your stylists advice when you change your style.
Don’t forget that your hairstyle is 90% of your look, so look after it!
